Collection of Yard Waste 2013

Yard waste collection will begin on
Monday, April 1, 2013
Yard waste should be set out on
Sunday evenings
for curbside pickup NOT ON THE STREET beginning on Monday each week.

Yard waste and Recyclables can be dropped off at Recycling Center on Monhagen Avenue, Monday – Friday, 7 AM – 3:00 PM.
Yard waste Collection ends on
December 9, 2013
Yard waste consists of grass clippings, weeds, brush, branches, and leaves and it should be put in cans, barrels or plastic bags.

Volunteers Needed for the Middletown Feral Cat Program

Pets Alive has been working with the Animal Control Officer with the City of Middletown  feral cat project.

So far Pets Alive has cleared and TNR'd 10 of the 14 feral cat locations in the City of Middletown since September 2012.  Also, since September 2012 they have trapped and altered 129 cats.  Out of the 129 cats 66 were not feral and and were put into the Pets Alive adoption program and 63 cats were returned to location.

Pets Alive is asking for additional volunteers to assist with this TNR program and care taking.  Please call Pets Alive at 845-386-9738 for information on this program.

Notice to Public Regarding City Streets Closings and Traffic Delays

Please be advised that Staring on Monday, July 8th, 2013, the City of Middletown Department of Public works will be Milling and Repaving the following City Streets:

  • East Main Street from Grand Ave to City line, Close to Anthony St.
  • Fulton St, Little Monhagen, and Monhagen Ave to City Line West of Tall Oaks dr.
  • Vincent Dr. and all internal roads.
  • Other incidental small roads.

Work is expected to be completed in three weeks, weather permitting. Some Milled Roads may be open for traffic, with caution to drivers to use extra caution and slow traveling speed. Please use alternate traffic routes during the construction operation, and call DPW if you have any questions or concerns

We regret the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and cooperation as we continue to rebuild our City infrastructure.
