Mission Statement of Organization: The Senior Citizen Programs are run through the City of Middletown, where  we are committed to serving the retirees, well elderly and frail elderly in our community. Our goal is to encourage, educate, assist and enhance life in retirement. Through activities such as exercise, yoga, art, theater, group meetings, crafts, and music our hope is to provide the tools necessary to live a quality-filled and healthier life as one ages. We also promote interaction between generations; exchanging skills, values and experiences.

The City of Middletown provides many Senior Citizen services and activities for seniors to enjoy while making new friends through the Mulberry House Senior Center.The center offers the following services: AARP Smart Driving Course, tax-aide & e-filing, health & exercise classes (T.O.P.S.), a computer lab for providing classes and computer practice time for all learning levels. Help is also available with Health Insurance problems & Food Stamps applications. The Middletown Golden Age Seniors and the AARP Chapter #1441 meet at the center. Mulberry House is a Retired Senior Volunteer Program site. Many volunteers participate in groups such as: “The Mulberry House Players” drama group, Crafts, or as office receptionists In addition the City also provides a door to door Senior Shuttle Bus Program. Transportation services are available Monday through Friday from 8:30AM to 4:30PM and Sundays from 8:00AM to 12:30PM to persons 60 years of age and older who live in our City for a minimal suggested donation of $1.00 per ride. Dazzling Dancing Divas TAP CLASSES begin Monday, September 12  held every Monday    Beginner Class 3-3:50pm, Intermediate Class /Advanced Class 4:10-5pm cost is $8 for 1 class sign or 2 for $12  Darlene Garland at 845-342-4303 or email: pgarland@hvc.rr.com  for details.

foodSENIOR DINING PROGRAM

The Dining Program provides nutritious meals to eligible people 60 and over. Meals are offered Monday through Friday .  Please contact Orange County Office for Aging 845-615-3700 for informtion on reserving meal delivery.

Orange county seniors are provided with a well balanced meal while enjoying social, health and educational programs, as well as nutrition education and counseling with a Registered Dietician.

Dining Site is also available at St. Paul's Methodist Church at 58 West Main St, Middletown, NY 10940 offred 11:30am-1pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.  Reservation must be made on Monday prior by calling #(845) 343-6911.  A confidential and voluntary contribution of $3.50 is suggested.

OFFICE HOURS FOR RESERVATIONS The office hours to reserve a ride are 8:30 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Monday to Friday. Please call us during these hours to reserve your rides for the week and to reserve for Sunday Church Services.

SENIOR SHUTTLE BUS HOURS OF OPERATION
The shuttle bus runs Monday to Friday from 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. and Sundays from 7:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. Please call:346-4070 OR 346-4071


The City of Middletown extends their appreciation to the following organizations for the continued support of the Senior Citizens Transportation Program:Orange County Office For The Aging and Town of Wallkill. The City of Middletown operates a Senior Citizens Shuttle Bus Service daily and on Sundays.

Passengers age 60 and older may use this service. Riders are picked up at their home and brought to any destination in the City of Middletown, Such as: banks, beauty shop, senior center, nutrition site and medical appointments. Weekly grocery shopping trips have also been scheduled to meet your requests. Doctors & Health Facilities along Crystal Run Road can be scheduled weekly also, with the convenience of two scheduled times of drop-off and pick-up. 


Seniors using this bus service MUST call one day ahead to make a reservation to be picked up.

 

SUGGESTED DONATION
The suggested donation for rides is $1.00 (one dollar) each way.
