Set for Saturday, June 15, Middletown Residents Only
Middletown, NY, April 26, 2019: Middletown Mayor Joseph M. DeStefano announced today that an Electronics Drop Off at 76 Monhagen Ave on Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 8:00AM to 3:00PM with a limit of 5 items per household with proof of City of Middletown residency to be presented at drop off.
“We are pleased to provide this added service for our residents and neighbors,” said Mayor DeStefano. “Customer service is a top priority of my administration, and providing this added convenience for everyone in Middletown is another way for us to better serve the residents and taxpayers of our great city. Council President Rodrigues, the members of the City Council and I remain committed to improving services in cost-effective ways.” Council President Rodrigues has scheduled a vote funding this pickup for May 7th at 8PM.
The drop off location provides residents the opportunity to dispose of these items at their convenience and free of charge. Leaving electronic devices curb side is prohibited by State Law and will result in a fine.
City crews will be on site to assist in removing items from your vehicle. Residents may also dispose of these items at certain commercial vendors throughout the year as a pay service.
DeStefano acknowledged the work of Public Works Chairman, Fourth Ward Jude Jean-Francois and Deputy Commissioner Mark Pengel for bringing this service to our residents this year. Chairman Jean-Francois noted that the pickup will cost in the area of $4,000 for the day.
At the request of Second Ward Aldermen, Jerry Kleiner and Andrew Green, Mayor DeStefano is hoping to arrange an additional pickup for October, 2019.
